Bowling is social sport that adds to community activity and is suitable for all ages and ability. So Club President Kevin Blackie was keen to find a way of allowing less mobile members to continue their enjoyment of both the game and the company.
The club applied for a North Berwick Trust grant to cover the purchase of a Bradshaw Buggy, which can be used on the bowling green without damaging the surface and lets everyone keep up with play.
Since the buggy arrived in April this year it has proved that it is not only for existing members but can also encourage new entrants to take up the sport. One frequent visitor to benefit from the new buggy has been local school boy Charlie, who has visited every week with his primary school during their weekly bowling session and during weekends with his family.
